Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard recently shared pictures of herself on the court with her beloved grandmother. She took to the practice court despite withdrawing from the 2023 BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells.
Bouchard skyrocketed to fame in 2014, reaching the semifinals of both the Australian Open and the French Open.
The former World No. 5 then made history as the first Canadian player to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament, the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. Despite her valiant effort, she ultimately fell short of the title, succumbing to Petra Kvitova in straight sets. Nevertheless, Bouchard's remarkable achievement cemented her place in Canadian tennis history.
On March 6, Bouchard shared a photo of a practice tennis court, accompanied by a caption that revealed a "special ball girl" was present to assist her during her practice session.
"Got a special ball girl in town 💕," Bouchard wrote on her Instagram story.
In her next Instagram story, Bouchard revealed that the special ball girl was none other than her beloved grandmother.
"Grandmaaaaa!!!!" she wrote.
