Halep relieved after reaching Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome final: "Thank god I don't play Svitolina because I've already lost two times against her"
Simona Halep is set for the final at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome after seeing off No.9 seed Garbine Muguruza 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in just over two hours.
It was 13 matches in a row as a result for Halep in terms of her winning streak and in terms of Muguruza, she was glad to get past a 'difficult' opponent.
"She's a very, very difficult player and a good player," Halep said when asked about her opponent. "It's always a good feeling when I win against her.
"I feel confident now that I was able to win this match. I know I had so many chances to maybe finish it a little bit faster and easier, but as we saw, she doesn't give up.
"I'm happy that I was a little bit stronger and I was more aggressive when I needed to be."
In the final, it is a befitting one with Karolina Pliskova, the number two awaiting and for Halep, she is glad it isn't Elina Svitolina who lost in the Quarter-Finals due to her poor record against her.
"Thank God I don't play Svitolina because I've already lost two times against her," Halep joked. "I really want to win this title, but it's always tough."
