Iga Swiatek will take on Ashleigh Barty in the Adelaide International semifinal and the Polish player is relaxed about the matchup.
Swiatek has proven herself to be very comfortable with the conditions in Adelaide as the Polish player is playing a great event, just like last year. She was able to see it through last year and lift the trophy but that task will be tougher this year as Ashleigh Barty stands in her way. Barty has played the best tennis out of all players at the event and on that Swiatek said:
“I can play without any expectations against Ash. She’s a great player. I don’t know if audience is going to be against me, because there
are so many Polish people (supporting me in Adelaide). So hopefully it’s
going to be like an even battle."
Swiatek is feeling good about her tennis as she should. She returned to her aggressive ways and it's working really well with the fast courts in Australia. She is hoping though, that Barty does not serve the way she did against Kenin (hit 17 aces):
“But tennis wise I feel like I’m in the right place, and that’s the most important thing for me. If Barty serves the way she did against Kenin, she will be tough to stop."
Match will start 09:30 CET. Report will be ready for you here so don't go far.
