Elina Svitolina is unsure how many more seasons she will play but there are things she still hopes to achieve in tennis before calling it quits down the line.
Svitolina recently became a mother and becoming a parent is a significant moment in any person's life. It certainly changed her perspectives of her though she returned to tennis because she still loves the game and wants to compete. It's not her top priority anymore but she still has plans before she retires. Retirement may still come sooner than anybody expects:
"I would like to spend all my time with Skai and share every moment with her, but I decided to return to competition and focus on my tennis. I don't know how many more seasons I will play, but there are some milestones I would like to achieve before retiring. In the near future I am clear about my plans."
The Ukranian tennis player did confirm her immediate plans on the tour and how she plans to go about it. She will play a few smaller events and then use her protected ranking for a few biggers ones:
"I will play an ITF tournament in Oeiras, Portugal, then I will rest for a week and then I will play a WTA 125 in Saint-Malo. In May I will use the protected ranking to play the WTA 1000 in Rome, then Strasbourg and finally Roland Garros.
A return to Rome is especially exciting to her:
"I have an incredible relationship with the Foro Italico. Every time I come back I feel very happy, the passion of the Italians is contagious, they know how to support you."
