"I just enjoy playing tennis" says Fernandez after reaching Monterrey Final

Leylah Fernandez will have a chance to go back-to-back in Monterrey later today when she faces Osorio Serrano.

The opportunity comes after a victory over Haddad Maia where the young Canadian showed brilliant tennis once more. Something about Monterrey simply suits Fernandez and she admitted after the match that it has a lot to do with the local tennis fans who enjoy tennis a lot:

"I just enjoy playing tennis in front of fans who love the sport as much as I do. They cheer me on, they cheer my opponents on, in tough moments the energy on court is so positive. I can't complain at all when I'm in Mexico. My time here has always been amazing, I've always had fun, I have fond memories. I can't wait to play more matches here in Mexico, hopefully over the next couple of years."

The final will be played at 23:30 and it will see either Fernandez or Osorio Serrano win a 2nd WTA trophy. They never played before.
