Aryna Sabalenka kept to the script at the 2024
Australian Open considering her form by reaching the final in Melbourne for the second consecutive year and will face either Dayana Yastremska or Qinwen Zheng who begin shortly on Rod Laver Arena.
It is capping off an awesome campaign for Sabalenka who gained sweet revenge on Coco Gauff after the American came from a set down to devastate her in the final of the 2023 US Open, but as Sabalenka has proven and proved again in her 7-6(2), 6-4 victory on Thursday that Melbourne is very much her house and is one she wants to keep when she takes to the final on Saturday.
The Belarusian though was in a good mood as expected post semi-final in a superb display and lauded praise on her opponent for being an 'incredible player' and one she enjoys playing. Albeit with the hope that in the future, they continue to face off and Sabalenka continues to get the better of her.
“It’s always a great fight, she’s an incredible player,” a delighted Sabalenka said on court afterwards, “I really enjoy playing her.”
"I really hope in the future we’re going play many more finals. Hopefully I’m going to win all of them," she joked.
