"I want to keep this going" says Svitolina after taking down Halep at US Open

Elina Svitolina took down Simona Halep in a very good match at the US Open and the Olympic bronze medalist is looking to keep this going.

It's been a good few months for Elina Svitolina who has had a fair share of memorable moments lately. Her tennis is going great which she proved by taking down Simona Halep in straight sets at the US Open. Svitolina is playing great tennis that consists of very aggressive play, going for winners and hitting them as well as very strong and consistent serving.

After the match she said:

"I think in the first set the key game was coming back from 15-40 at 3-All. It was really important to take one point at a time and fight to come back. I think it was a really strong performance from me on the important moments, even when Simona came back in the second set to break me again. It was extremely tough, but I think I was mentally strong, didn't let that break me. Really helped me to close this match in two sets."

It was a bouncy affair indeed as Halep, despite not having her best stuff, pushing from start to finish. The Romanian player had decent chances in the match but Svitolina remained calm and played the key moments better. That gives her confidence in her game and she is looking to continue that:

"Right now I'm feeling good. I think I'm playing really aggressive right now. I think the most aggressive I've ever been, making lots of winners, serving really good. I want to keep this going, feeling that I'm in a good mind."
