Andriy Shevchenko is one of the greatest sports people Ukraine ever produced and he is firmly engaged to help his country during a tough time.
The former football player was present in Krakow for Swiatek's charity match that raised over 500.000 euros for the victims of the war. He was involved in organizing the vent together with Elina Svitolina whom Swiatek both invited to take part in it. He took to social media to thank Swiatek and the people of Poland in their efforts to help Ukraine.
"I want to thank you Polish people for being very kind to my
country to host us here to provide for all our needs. Thank you so
much for your support. Also, I want to thank Iga Swiatek and Robert
Lewandowski for taking a big part in the achievement to help my country
to raise funds and be supportive against the war in Ukraine."
On Iga specifically, he added:
"She is so young – only 21 – and she is already doing so much."
