World number one,
Iga Swiatek, stated that she couldn’t believe her achievements after looking back at her recent achievements.
The 23-year-old is already regarded as the best female tennis player in the singles category. Swiatek recently won the
French Open after beating Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the final in straight sets
with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Swiatek was recently quoted in a report, stating that she could not believe what she had achieved in the last eight weeks.
"I was like 'Oh my god, this!', I mean, when I look at
my calendar on my phone it looks crazy," she said. "How am I going to
survive that? But, here I am, and honestly, I think I learned that if I enjoy
life off the court I really enjoyed being in Madrid, Rome, and here. It helped
me also to be fresh on-court.”
It was Swiatek’s third consecutive title while playing at
the Roland Garros. She won the French Open in 2022 after beating America’s Coco
Gauff in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-3. Last year, the reigning world number one defeated Karolína
Muchova in the final, scoring 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 to lift the title.
Iga Swiatek defeated Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets to win the French Open.
Swiatek has been having a brilliant season. She won four titles before the French Open. She lifted the Qatar Open after beating Elena Rybakina in the final 7-6, 6-2.
She then won the WTA 1000 event at Indian Wells after beating Maria Sakkari of Greece in the final 6-4, 6-0. Before coming to Paris, Swiatek won back-to-back titles in Madrid and Rome, and on both occasions,
her opponent was world number two Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka.
She came out on top in the Spanish capital with a score of
7-5, 4-6, 7-6. Later in the Rome Open, Swiatek emerged victorious with a score
of 6-2, 6-3.
