After missing out on Miami due to an injury,
Iga Swiatek has suggested that she might make a comeback at the 2023 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
Swiatek is preparing to participate in the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart and has selected the clay courts of the tournament as the stage for her comeback. Swiatek has been nursing a rib injury since her impressive semifinal run at Indian Wells pulling out of the Miami Open due to the injury. Playing in Stuttgart isn't anything new to her because she was there last year.
The news of Iga Swiatek's impending return to tennis was disclosed during a friendly conversation with Mikaela Shiffrin, a two-time Olympic gold medalist skier.
Their discussion indicated the possibility of a get-together in Germany, as Shiffrin is slated to be in nearby Austria and Norway during the same period as the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart, where Swiatek plans to make her comeback. If she takes part, Swiatek will be the defending champion having won the event last year. It's a strong field as it is every year so it should be interesting.
