John Millman has branded the doping delay that
Simona Halep has encountered a 'disgrace' and said that one way or another, she shouldn't be made to wait. The Australian made the comments as once again Halep was made to wait with her tribunal verdict due this past week.
Millman said that he finds it strange that the WTA and other players haven't come out to support her and that one way or another she should get the fair hearing whether she did it or not calling it 'tennis purgatory'.
She was banned at the US Open last year and has since waited for her case to be heard which was consistently pushed back by the ITIA, a tribunal finally happened in London but there has been radio silence since then.
She will now drop out of the rankings after nearly a year off court waiting for this to be resolved.
"The ITIA delays in regards to Simona Halep’s case is a disgrace. One way or the other she shouldn’t be constantly mucked around like this. I’m a little surprised more on the WTA, admin, and players, haven’t come out condemning the process. It’s been a joke," he tweeted.
"Simona is in tennis purgatory due to constant delays in proceedings from the ITIA. Her colleagues should have her back and broadcast it in the public forum. Allowing her a proper and fair hearing. If you walked in her shoes you’d at least want that. Regardless of the findings," Millman wrote.
