If you're wondering whether
Iga Swiatek is still the best player in the world, the answer is yes as she proved it with a spectacular title run in Doha beating Pegula in the final 6-3 6-0.
If you wonder how dominant Swiatek has been at this event, you just need to see how many games she lost so far at the event. She lost only five games in three matches as one of her matches was a walkover. That's an incredible level, especially when you consider that she played Collins, Kudermetova and Pegula.
That's a good list of players but none of them were even close to win a set against her. Pegula came closest today but in reality, it was never going to happen. Every time the American upped her level, Swiatek responded with an even better level, probably two classes above. The first set was a 6-3 as Swiatek was finding her footing on the court.
Once she did, it was game over, literally. 6-0 in the second set. Very impressive, not much to add.
