Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek arrived at Indian Wells with the mission to defend the titles they won last year. The Polish player won the title in both 2022 and 2024, defeating Maria Sakkari each time, while the Spaniard is a two-time defending champion, defeating Daniil Medvedev on both occasions.

It is well-known that Swiatek is a fan of Taylor Swift and has attended her concerts whenever her schedule allows. The Polish player recently responded about her favorite album by the California singer, saying, "Speak Now," she said. "That was one of the first ones, and, I don’t know, I just love how the lyrics and how she describes the world."

"I remember I didn’t speak English that well when I listened to it for the first time, and I learned so much because of it. And also, it was like the first album that I listened to. It felt like I was watching a movie because of how she sings and how she describes the world."

The male world No. 3 recently also talked about music when asked about his favorite Bad Bunny song in a video by ATP Tour and Over Time Tennis. When asked which song he would like Bad Bunny to perform if they met in person, Alcaraz replied: "That’s tough, I’m between two. It’s gonna be from the new album—'Café con Ron' or 'Debí tirar más fotos’,” mentioned the four-time Grand Slam champion.

Alcaraz will debut on Friday against the winner of Quentin Halys vs Pablo Carreño Busta (Q). The 21-year-old Spaniard is seeking his sixth Masters 1000 title at the tournament where he has achieved some of his best results, boasting a 16-2 record (89%).

Just a few days ago, Alcaraz played in the Battle of Legends exhibition at the Coliseo in San Juan, Puerto Rico, against Frances Tiafoe. The American had won his previous exhibition in Charlotte at the end of 2024, and this time the four-time Grand Slam champion had his revenge, winning 6-4, 3-6, and 6-3. Precisely during Alcaraz's entrance to the court, the song “Café con Ron” by Bad Bunny was playing.
