British tennis star Emma Raducanu has never played a full schedule on the WTA tour, as she has been hindered by injuries in her short career. However, the former World No.10 appears motivated to increase her match count in the upcoming 2025 season.
After winning her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, Raducanu is yet to make an impact on the WTA tour. The 22-year old has had a light schedule compared to her colleagues, playing only 10 matches in 2023 and 36 during the 2024 season.
The former British No.1 stated she would like to increase her number of matches played in the upcoming season. Raducanu revealed she had finally figured out how to practice and make small improvements in her game during tournaments.
"I want to play more than I did this year," admitted Raducanu in an interview with PA. "I think now, with my set-up, I’m in a place where I can continue work on the road. So I don’t necessarily need to come back to continue good physical work.
"I can do it pretty much every day, like microdoses. And I think that’s actually going to be a great addition for me next year, which I’m excited about.
"Also with my tennis, I’m in a pretty good spot. I feel like I just want to see how much I can do, fulfil my potential. I’m curious about what my level can get to. I really want to play more. And I think a big part of that is just staying healthy."
