"I'm gearing to get back on tour" says Venus Williams hinting return to tennis

Venus Williams has yet to play in 2022 due to some injuries but the veteran hinted recently that she will return soon.

Venus Williams was supposed to begin her 2022 season down under in Australia but the American was forced to abandon her plans to play because of an injury. Williams dropped significantly on the rankings and can't enter any main draw event without playing the qualifiers and will mostly rely on wild cards. She received one from Tennis Australia but could not play.

In a recent Instagram Q and A Williams hinted at reutrning to the courts very soon saying:

"I'm doing great. What about you? just fine? Oh yeah, I'm glad I asked. More than anything, I am, guess what gearing to get back on tour. Can't wait."

Her form and play recently have not been good and many have called on her to retire but she was adamant about stopping when she decides. She also admitted that she simply loves the game and still enjoys playing and won't retire unless those things change. For now, it seems she will continue to play throughout 2022.
