"I would consider becoming Team World captain at the Laver Cup" says Andy Roddick

Andy Roddick was in Boston last year to watch the 2021 Laver Cup and spending time with Roger Federer he got a chance to know the backstory of the event.

Roddick enjoyed himself in Boston and he could clearly see himself becoming part of the event in the future. Since 2017 Team World captain has been John McEnroe but with both him and Borg up there in age, many thought about who could potentially replace them. A fan thought of Roddick and asked him on Twitter 'Would you consider becoming Laver Cup Team World captain one day?'

Roddick responded with 'Yes, I would'

Another fan added: 'Wuld you consider becoming the captain this year in London' to which Roddick replied:

"Not my call, and admittedly I don’t know all that goes into it, so would have to learn a bit more. I think it’s a great event and would be open to a conversation for sure."

Perhaps in a couple of years, we could see Roddick on one side and Federer on another as captains. Only time will tell but Roddick expressed his admiration of the event and wondered what it would be like 20 years ago.
