Nick Kyrgios will take some time off before returning to the courts after his triumph in Melbourne with doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Kyrgios officially became a grand slam champion by winning the Australian Open doubles title with Thanasi Kokkinakis. The native Australian celebrated the win emphatically while admitting that it was his dream to win one on native soil. Content with what he did, Kyrgios will take some time off before returning to the courts.
He was set to appear at the inaugural edition of the
Dallas Open next week but he withdrew from that event without specifying a reason. He withdrew also from the
Delray Beach Open which was announced today. Once again no reason for his withdrawal was given as Kyrgios is still in his native Australia doing the media tour following his sudden triumph in Melbourne. His return might happen at the Indian Wells Masters.
