Jennifer Brady was glad to see Rafael Nadal win the Australian Open as the American has considered Nadal her idol for many years.
Jennifer Brady played in the Australian Open final last year but the American failed to win the event. She was bested by Naomi Osaka and despite not playing this year, Brady still followed the event closely. She was very happy to see Rafael Nadal win it and get to 21 grand slams overall as she counts herself as a huge Nadal fan.
Speaking to the Tennis Channel, Brady said:
"I know, it's hard to believe. Anybody would have thought that maybe Novak would be the first one to 21 but I am happy it's Rafa, I'm a huge Rafa fan. I absolutely adore him and he's an idol of mine. So, happy to see that he is in Acapulco, playing."
Brady is just one of many tennis players that have spoken fondly of seeing Nadal win the Australian Open trophy. Whether Nadal can turn 21 into 22 remains to be seen but the Roland Garros is getting closer and all eyes will be on Paris.
