Iga Swiatek will face Elina Svitolina in the Quarter-Finals of 2023 Wimbledon after coming from the brink to defeat Belinda Bencic 6-7(4), 7-6(2), 6-3.
Svitolina on the other hand played out an absolute epic seeing off Victoria Azarenka which was played at the same time.
The World No.1 shared her respect for Svitolina post match and her admiration for returning post pregnancy as well as having 'good values'.
"It's good to have these kind of players on tour that are nice and they have kind of good values, I think," she said post match.
"I'm happy that she's back after becoming a mother. I don't know how tough it is, but I'm sure it's really tough. Yeah, I'm happy that she's playing a solid game. I think it's going to be interesting in two days."
Albeit despite being friendly with each other and having that mutual respect, she doesn't think it will impact the match.
"I don't think it's going to impact our game. For sure, yeah, we respect each other. We like each other. It's all pretty positive."
They will play on Tuesday afternoon at SW19 with Svitolina likely to be on Centre Court for the first time since defeating Venus Williams in her opening match.
