The
Indian Wells Masters is in its final days with today being WTA semi-final day when we'll find out which players will contest the WTA Final.
We have two matches on the programme with the first one beginning at 23:00 CET and it's going to be
Maria Sakkari v
Aryna Sabalenka. It's an interesting matchup between two players who are not playing at the same level right now. Sakkari has scored some impressive wins these weeks but Sabalenka is playing far better tennis so far this year.
That's been the case in Indian Wells as well. Can the Greek player come up with something special? Tough to say but it should be exciting. The far closer matchup is the second one between
Iga Swiatek and
Elena Rybakina. They played once this year and Rybakina won that match at the Australian Open in straight sets.
These conditions should favour Swiatek a bit more but it's not going to be easy. They played an exhibition match late last year in preparation for this season and Rybakina won that too so there is something that Swiatek struggles with when she plays her.
