"It was probably the most perfect moment of my life so far": Rogers recalls proposal by long-time boyfriend, John Slavik

American tennis star Shelby Rogers opened up on how her long-time boyfriend John Slavik proposed to her this week, ahead of the Credit One Charleston Open.

Following her victory over compatriot Danielle Collins in the opening round, Rogers shed some light on how Slavik made the unique proposal.

"It was downtown at the Battery right by the water and then the sunset put on a beautiful show," stated the Mount Pleasant-born player. "It was probably the most perfect moment of my life so far."

The 30-year old admitted everyone else seemed to know about his plan to propose before she did.

"He did an amazing job. Everybody was in on it except me," she added with a smile. "There were a couple of slip-ups right before and I was like, hang on, this isn't the way to dinner you know, but I haven't been able to stop smiling the whole time I've been home."

The duo have been dating since 2020 following a blind date arranged by a mutual friend.
