Daria Kasatkina beat Paula Badosa in straight sets to advance to the Silicon Valley Classic final once more and it's the 2nd one in two years.
Kasatkina played in the final last year but lost to Danielle Collins and she will hope to avoid that fate in 2022. The Russian is playing an American once again in Shelby Rogers but this will be the first final for Rogers in six years.
For Kasatkina it was much less of a drought as she played in it last year. She said:
"Playing two times in a row the finals here in San Jose it means it's a special place for me."
And she also had a few words about her opponent in the final, Shelby Rogers.
"I love her, she's a great person. I'm really happy to share this day and special moment with her on the court. It will be good memories. But of course on the court we will fight against each other, but at the end of the day it will be special."
