Paula Badosa is very friendly with the majority of WTA players because she believes that having a good relationship with her fellow players is important.
The eyes of the tennis world are currently most interesting in Paula Badosa, who made her career breakthrough at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. While the Spaniard has been slowly emerging throughout 2021, it is at the Indian Wells where she lifted the biggest trophy of her career. Speaking after that match the Spaniard underlined the importance of being friendly with other players:
"It's something that I talk with the other players about. I'm lucky that I have a really good relationship with them. I think that's important as well. It doesn't mean that if you have a good relationship, then when you play against them something will change. Maybe a few years ago or some years ago, it was a little bit different, the relationships between players. A few years ago, I really thought that I had to be - it's funny to say - sad or angry, all day like that, and that was professional. It's not like that."
Badosa is also looking at the Big 3 in order to find a similar balance those three were able to find in terms of tennis and their personal lives. Badosa thinks that finding a good balance allows them to perform their best on the courts. She said:
"I think you have to find that balance and I think the greatest to do that. There's a lot of examples. The Big Three, they're amazing, but they have their time, they have their personal life, and that's the perfect example. That's what I'm trying to do."
