The husband of Tunisia’s tennis star
Ons Jabeur pens down an
emotional message after the
Wimbledon 2023 final defeat.
The 28-year-old once again ended on the wrong side of the
result after suffering a defeat in straight sets against Czech Republic’s Marketa
Vondrousova with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
Karim Kamoun, in his Instagram post, revealed that the
result was enough to make him ‘cry like a baby’ but also expressed pride in the
performance of his wife in the competition.
"Yes this one was painful,” he wrote. “Yes this one was
really tough, Yes this one made me cry like a baby, it’s ok to show emotions,
emotions are the fuel that will make you stronger, wiser and I’m pretty sure
that we are on the right path, it’s coming you just need to believe and keep
working hard. I’m very proud of you @onsjabeur. Dream big, Believe big,"
Kamoun wrote.”
The defeat was definitely going to be a tough one for Jabeur
as it was her third consecutive defeat in a Grand Slam final.
She was beaten for the first time in the final of a major
tournament last summer when she came short against Elena Rybakina with a score
of 3–6, 6–2, 6–2 in London.
She later went on to lose the final of the US Open to
current world number one Iga Swiatek with a score of 6–2, 7–6.
