Novak Djokovic lost out in the final of
Wimbledon and in his post match speech, it got to him as he shed a tear after losing to Carlos Alcaraz.
Djokovic started off by praising the champion and his team as well as joking that he thought he'd only have a problem with him on clay and maybe hard courts.
"Not so good for me, but good for Carlos. I have to start with praises towards Carlos and his team. Amazing quality at the end of the match when you had to serve it out. You deserve it, congratulations," said Djokovic to his rival.
"I thought I'd have trouble with you only on clay and maybe hard but not on grass but now it's a different story. Amazing way to adapt to the surface, you played maybe once or twice before this year's Wimbledon on grass. Amazing what you did at Queen's and congratulations to you and your team."
"As for me, obviously you never like to lose matches like this but I guess when all the emotions are settled, I'll still have to be grateful as I won many close and tight matches over the years."
He also shared a heartwarming moment with his son shedding a tear at one point before promising him a hug.
"It's nice to see my son still there, smiling," he paused before looking down and shedding a tear in an emotional moment. "I love you thank you for supporting me and I'll give you a big hug."
