Jennifer Brady, the 2021 Australian Open runner-up, has withdrawn from next month's Melbourne Park grand slam due to a foot injury.
American tennis player Jennifer Brady reached her first grand slam final in February when she lost to Naomi Osaka in straight sets at Rod Laver Arena. It was a brilliant run from Brady who demonstrated the best tennis of her career indicating a possible breakout year for herself. However, the season got completely derailed by several injuries that has prevented her from playing her best for the majority of the year.
The world No.25 has not played since retiring from her second-round match against Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko in Cincinnati in August and even before that her play was been lackluster with her missing many events due to injuries. The latest injuries will keep her out at least till march and she has now officially withdrawn from the Australian Open.
Brady
is the latest high-profile player to miss the Australian Open, which
will be held between January 17-30, with world No.4 Karolina Pliskova
and grand slam champions Serena Williams, Bianca Andreescu, and Roger
