While
Jessica Pegula prepares to return to action next week at the DC Open Washington, she has received some unfortunate news.
Pegula revealed on social media that her dog, Dexter has passed away. They often say that a dog is a best friend and it seems to be the case for the American tennis ace.
“Dexter we love you so much & we’re devastated to have lost you so suddenly. The most loyal man with the best heart. When you left you took a piece of me with you that won't ever feel whole," she wrote.
It will be a pivotal month incoming for Pegula who will of course be one of the main attractions on US Open season as a home hero. This alongside the likes of Coco Gauff and ATP aces, Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe and recent Wimbledon star, Christopher Eubanks.
Like alluded to, she is slated to play Washington ahead of Cincinnati and Montreal.
