Karolina Pliskova made a career-defining decision after Wimbledon parting ways with tennis coach Sascha Bajin.
Sascha Bajin and Karolina Pliskova teamed up ahead of the 2021 season and it was only one of the several high profile coaching gigs the German has had. He was a former hitting partner of Serena Williams after which he coached Naomi Osaka to two grand slam trophies. He returned to the top of tennis by coaching Pliskova to the last year's Wimbledon final but a wrist injury derailed her season this year.
Since returning, Pliskova never looked quite as strong and she made the decision to part ways with Bajin after some noted results. The 30-year-old announced the decision on social media writing:
"Even good things something comes to an end. I would like to thank @BigSascha for everything he did for me and my team. It was an incredible time and i learned a lot! Mainly how to be more positive and believe in myself :) One of the best coaches out there, good luck my friend."
