Sofia Kenin is chasing her third title this year after beating Anna Blinkova 7-6, 4-6 and 6-1 in the semifinals at the Guangzhou Open.

On the way to the semifinals, the American managed to beat Siegemund, Zavatska and Paolini without losing the set. For the first time on her way to the finals, she stumbled against Anna Blinkova.
Kenin's match didn't start well again when she was losing already 4-1 in the first set. But just like in the match against Jasmine Paolini, she managed to turn this set and win it 7-2 in a tie-break. In the second set it was Kenin who led 4-3 and 40-30, but has not won a game since then in the second set and lost it 4-6.
The American lost the first game of the third set and then asked for a medical timeout. After that, Kenin lost no more games and won 6-1 in the third set. In the final she will meet Sam Stosur, who managed to defeat Viktoria Golubic.
