Madison Keys has seen off Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final of the Western & Southern Open producing a comeback in both sets to win 7-5, 7-6.
Keys was 3-5 down in each set with Kuznetsova serving for each set at 5-4; but the American produced the goods at the right time to win in Cincinnati.
It was her first hard-court final since the 2017 US Open; but she showed that there was a good reason why she got to that final.
This will also act as a confidence boost for Keys going into the same tournament that she can produce the same if not better this time around.
It is also the biggest title of her career winning her first career Premier 5 title on the WTA tour and for Kuznetsova despite losing out, it reflects a return to form after injury troubles and is something she can take forward from Cincinnati.
