Kuznetsova claimed her third straight top 10 victory in powering past the Australian; as the former World No.2 ousted the current World No. 2.
Despite her former ranking, the Russian currently sits down in World No.153; she received a wildcard into the draw but her form has been excellent all week justifying her inclusion.
After losing the first two games of the match, she powered to the first set with ease taking advantage of some errors by Barty; to lead 3-2 herself with a break and from there she continued to find her range and finished off the set 6-2, winning six games in a row.
In the requisite set, it was a lot more closer and ended 6-4; but Kuznetsova was still dominant throughout as she eased into a 3-1 and 4-2 lead.
Barty held her serve but this wasn't enough as the two game cushion was restored at 5-3 and from there a hold aside, Svetlana moved through to the final with ease to continue an excellent week.
