Iga Swiatek despite only being at an early stage of her career continues to win a lot of events and with it prize money and interestingly, she has now overtaken both Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova for career prize money.
Of course, this is somewhat of an anomaly as Graf and Navratilova played for significantly less prize money during their career despite winning a lot more titles.
A way to go to reach Serena's record mark
With even more changes on the way in regards to equal prize money, many more top players will likely pass the marks previously set by the greats. Swiatek even at the age of just 22 has secured over $24,592,763 with her recent WTA Finals triumph. Navratilova on the other hand sits at just $21,626,089 and Graf $21,895,277. There is some way to go though before she reached the $90million+ mark set by Serena Williams, but being only in her early 20's, Swiatek could soon reach $50m which would put her second all time behind the great American.
Also this has been done in a sizeable chunk of cash without Swiatek having many of the endorsement deals that even players such as Emma Raducanu has had with only a quarter of the success as well as Naomi Osaka among others showing that while there is a way to go for equality with the ATP that Swiatek's winning still earns her a lot of cash.
