Despite the Qatar TotalEnergies Open losing some star power due to some poorly-timed withdrawals, the event will still feature several exciting players vying for one of the more prestigious trophies on the tour.
Reigning Wimbledon champion
Elena Rybakina, former US Open champ
Bianca Andreescu and two-time Grand Slam champion
Garbine Muguruza have all announced their withdrawal from the event, citing injury and recuperation.
However, the field will hopefully feature some exciting match-ups, as 2021 US Open
Leylah Fernandez and former World No.1
Karolina Pliskova have been granted entry to the qualifiers. Should they make it through three rounds of qualification, then they will join other competitors in the main draw of the event.
Joining the aforementioned players are Switzerland's Jil Teichmann, Czech star Marie Bouzkova and big-hitting Belgian Elise Mertens. The Qatar TotalEnergies Open will run from February 13-18, 2023.
