Sabine Lisicki is back to playing tennis again after returning from a serious knee injury that would have left many unable to play.

Sabine Lisicki has had a fairly solid career but a bad knee injury stopped her from playing the sport she loves. Now back to full health, Lisicki opted for a comeback and it's been going pretty okay so far considering the circumstances and duration of absence.

She will play in the main draw of Hamburg after battling through qualifiers taking down the number one seed in those qualifiers Kateryna Bainld en route to securing the main draw. She explained what inspired her during the toughest moments of her career:

"Lindsey Vonn was a very important and inspiring person. We didn't know each other personally before, but she got in touch with me when I broke everything in my knee that can be broken. She had a very serious knee injury herself, and when you have someone like that and you can ask for advice, that's a great support."

Another athlete who inspried her is Andy Murray:

"He made it back with a [reconstructed] hip and is playing really good tennis again. My injury was also so bad that 99.9 per cent of the time you wouldn't return to professional sports, so Andy's story is very inspiring."
