"Lot of belief in her game and potential" says Andy Murray on Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu is getting more and more fans around the Tour and Andy Murray counts himself among them.

The British player has been very complimentary of Raducanu ever since she won her first match at Wimbledon against Cirstea. Since then the British phenom has made great strides breaking into the top 150 for the first time yesterday. That came after a great showing at Chicago 125K.

The result did not go unnoticed and Murray offered more encouraging words for Raducanu saying:

“Lots of people in British tennis have obviously got very high hopes for her. I’ve seen her around training and I’ve hit with her myself. I have a lot of belief in her game and her potential. Mentally, I think she is in a very good place."

Raducanu has suffered a heartbreaking end to her Wimbledon journey however the British player vowed to come back stronger and indeed she has. For Murray the most enouraging sign is a deep dedication to tennis which he sees in the youngster:

“I think she’s really switched on and is really into her tennis. She’s certainly heading in the right direction and she will certainly continue to move up the rankings.”
