Maria Sakkari officially secures WTA Finals spot

It's has been a spectacular 2021 season for Maria Sakkari who has been one of the better tennis players on the tour. The Greek played a very consistent 2nd half o the 2021 season which allowed her to gather enough points to secure a spot at the WTA Finals in Guadalajara. The points needed came after her win over Anna Kalinskaya at the Kremlin Cup.

Sakkari mentioned the WTA Finals as a big goal throughout the 2021 and the Greek was able to do it. She is currently above the mathematically needed threshold placing 5th in the WTA Race overall. It's a huge achievement for Sakkari who finally achieved the breakthrough in her career many saw coming a few years ago.

Several players are still in the hunt for the final three spots at the event with names as Swiatek, Muguruza, Badosa and Jabeur all in the mix. It's going to be a very exciting a fun end to the season so don't go far as we will have daily coverage.
