The Prague Open in the Czech Republic was won by a Czech player as Marie Bouzkova capped off her amazing week home with an easy 6-0 6-3 win over Potapova.
The Czech player entered this year with high hopes and proved her ambition early in the year with some fantastic performances. Things finally clicked for her at Wimbledon where she played amazing tennis reaching the 2nd seek and losing to Ons Jabeur. Now, she's a WTA champion as she beat Anastasia Potapova in the final.
From the start, it was evident that Bouzkova was confident in her abilities and took advantage of a very nervous Potapova. The Russian won a trophy earlier this year so the nervousness was somewhat surprising but Bouzkova did not care.
She broke her opponent 3 times for the easy 6-0 finish in the opening set. She was now even more sure of herself and even though Potapova played much better in the 2nd set the Russian was still no match for Bouzkova who cruised to her maiden trophy on native soil 6-3.
