One of the great favorites to win the next Australian Open, Aryna Sabalenka, continues to demonstrate that it has come in form at the beginning of this campaign and has gotten rid with extreme ease of China's Lin Zhu in the round of 16 of the Brisbane Tournament;
The Belarusian played a great first set, with 4 aces, winning 81% of her first serves and taking 3 of the 5 break points she had, winning the 3 games to the rest that she played. The Chinese, meanwhile, lost almost everything she served with seconds and, although she got a break, she had no chance against the world number 2.
The second set began in the same way, with Zhu without confidence with his service and yielding to a very aggressive Sabalenka thus heading his triumph. As a real steamroller, without any consideration for the weakness of his rival, the Belarusian continued to sweep in the second set and soon was 3-0 up with the duel completely sentenced.
The last games of the match were a mere formality for Sabalenka, who is one of the great favorites to win the Australian Open. Final victory by 6-1/6-0.
