The 2024 Brisbane International on the WTA side will be the first tournament of the season and will comprise of the WTA 500 and ATP 250. The prize money and points distribution have been confirmed ahead of the tournament which takes place between December 31 - January 7, 2024.
There will be a 64 player singles draw with $1,736,763 on offer in terms of overall financial commitment. Those vying for the title include reigning Australian Open champion and finalist Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina as the main stars. Naomi Osaka will also make her return.
It is almost a who's who of those who have decided against or couldn't qualify for the United Cup with the ASB Classic also taking place that week headlined by Caroline Wozniacki and Emma Raducanu as well as Coco Gauff. Others have decided to head to Australia to play the teams competition including World Number One, Iga Swiatek.
With this being a WTA 500, those involved will vie for 500 points as well as $220,000 for the victor. $135,000 will go to the finalist, while semi-finalists receive $79,000. Points wise, it will be 325 points and 195 points respectively. The breakdown goes all the way down to the first round with a sole point for losing and $12,200 onto the ranking.
