Millman believes Verdasco TUE ban proves Halep is innocent: "If she really wanted to enhance her performance with a substance she could have just gone down a TUE path"

John Millman thinks the Verdasco suspension is a good indication that Simona Halep is probably innocent in her own doping case.

Simona Halep was suspended from tennis a few weeks ago after her samples revealed traces of a banned substance. The Romanian tennis player was shocked and plans to fight for the truth in order to prove her innocence and John Millman believes her.

The Australian tennis player uses his Twitter platform to talk about some issues from time to time and he reacted to the recent Verdasco suspension by pointing out how Halep could have opted for the exemption if she wanted to dope:

"In general I really don’t like TUE’s in professional sport. Opens up way too many loopholes to “legally dope” - it’s very unfortunate for those with legitimate need as is the probable case here. However it’s been long known that if you want to dope, get a TUE."

He added:

"To add to this is one of the reasons I think Simona Halep is innocent. If she really wanted to enhance her performance with a substance she could have just gone down a TUE path. I genuinely believe she is innocent and hope she returns to the courts soon!"
