Badosa: "My shoulder, it's okay. My first time playing against Simona, I think she played very high level. She was getting all the balls. She was aggressive. She was fast. "I don't know what she said, but I think she played perfect.” #MMOPEN
Paula Badosa did not enjoy hr time against Simona Halep in Madrid yesterday losing in two fairly quick sets 3-6 1-6.
The Spaniard had issues in the match that were unrelated to her tennis which wasn't that great. Serving wasn't particularly good for her and generally, she struggled to find a rhythm. It became apparent that she was dealing with shoulder issues and after the match, she played it down saying it's fine:
""My shoulder, it's okay."
On her opponent she added:
"My first time playing against Simona, I think she played very high level. She was getting all the balls. She was aggressive. She was fast. I don't know what she said, but I think she played perfect.”
Badosa reached the semifinals last year so this defeat will knock off a few points from her overall tally.
