The mystery surrounding Peng Shuai has deepened with photos emerging showing the Chinese tennis star posting on WeChat with the caption 'Happy weekend'.
This was then shared by Chinese state-affiliated media, CGTN showing Shuai smiling with a grey chat while surrounded by soft toys.
But again like the email which is perpetrated to be sent by Shuai to WTA Chief, Steve Simon, scepticism and questions on the authenticity of the images have been raised.
Many point to a framed photo of Winnie The Pooh as a tell-tale sign with the character banned in China after likening him to President Xi Jinping.
Despite these images being released, the WTA and other organisations have still been able to trace her whereabouts with the UN among those looking to step in.
