Former World No.1 Naomi Osaka revealed on Monday that she had split from longtime partner, Cordae, who is also the father of their daughter, Shai.
The Japanese tennis superstar began dating Cordae in 2019, with the rapper making several appearances at many of her matches. Cordae was present when Osaka won the 2020 US Open title, and was a prominent feature in Osaka's docuseries, which premiered on Netflix in 2021.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child in 2023, with Osaka giving birth to Shai later that summer. The four-time Grand Slam champion would take to social media on Monday to announce their breakup, but stated there was no bad blood between the two and they would co-parent their child.
“No bad blood at all, he's a great person and an awesome dad," wrote the two-time Australian Open champion. “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together."
After taking maternity leave and returning in 2024, Osaka reached her first final at the 2025 ASB Classic last weekend. The 27-year old was forced to retire in the final due to an injury, but will compete at next week's Australian Open.
