Naomi Osaka announced on her twitter that she won't be attending the Roland Garros scheduled to begin later this month due to a hamstring injury.
The 22-year old who recently won her 2nd
US Open trophy announced via social media that she won't be attending this year's edition of the
Roland Garros. She wrote:
"I won't be able to play at the French Open."
This injury is nothing new as she has been dealing with it for quite some time. It forced her to retire in the
Western and Southern Open a couple of weeks ago and still continued to bother her at the US Open. Somehow she managed to control it for the better part of the grand slam but she now decided to tend to it before it gets worse.
She explained:
"These two tournaments came too close to each other for me."
