Navratilova reacts to ban on ‘Where is Peng Shuai’ shirts: “That’s just pathetic”

Footage dropped which has been the talk of the tennis world of fans being told to remove ‘Where is Peng Shuai’ shirts at the Australian Open.

Tournament organisers said safety was their primary concern regarding the move but this has stirred up anger due to the stance in particular of the WTA in this all.

In November, she made the allegation of sexual assault again a former prominent vice premier in the Chinese government before any trace of her vanished. Since then, she has appeared at many events but many including the WTA still remain unconvinced regarding her safety even pulling hugely beneficial tournaments financially in Asia.

Martina Navratilova weighed in on the video calling the move ‘pathetic’.

"That's just pathetic. The @wta stands pretty much alone on this!!!,” she said on Twitter.
