WTA legend Serena Williams announced she would be releasing two books in the new future, the first is an "intimate" memoir about her career and upbringing, and the other an inspirational tome.

The memoir has been described as "open-hearted exploration of the experiences that have shaped her life", and it will elaborate on her youth and illustrious career, in addition to entailing how she coped with losses on and off the court.

Some aspects of the book will also detail Williams' relationship with her husband, Alexis Ohanian and motherhood in general. Tennis fans reacted to the news of Williams' upcoming memoir with glee, with some hoping she dedicated sections to her battles with rival players.

"I need like a chapter for every player and her thoughts on them. We will be reading the Shara, Vika, Naomi and Jankovic chapters!", wrote one fan on social media.

"I’m very interested in Serena’s full story, and I hope her and Venus can eventually get a movie centered around their tennis careers from their point of view," said another.

"I don't really buy books (because I prefer to check them out from a library) but I will be pre-ordering this one from my local bookstore," another fan posted.
