Leylah Fernandez was the recipient of several congratulatory messages over the weekend, following her victory at the 2023
Hong Kong Open.
The Canadian defeated Katerina Siniakova in the title match, rallying from a set down to record a 3-6 6-4 6-4 victory. This would be Fernandez's third career WTA singles title, and her first this season.

The 2021 US Open runner-up took to social media to express her joy, thanking fans for their relentless support.
"Dreams transformed into reality through hard work and dedication. This victory is not just mine, but a shared triumph with each of you who stood by me. Your unwavering support fueled every point on the court. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," she wrote in an Instagram post.
Several of her colleagues in the tennis world were quick to congratulate the 21-year old, with reigning US Open champion
Coco Gauff being the first in line.
"Congrats ❤️," Gauff commented.
"🙌🔥❤️," wrote Bianca Andreescu.
"Congratulations 🙌🙌🙌," former World No.1 Boris Becker posted.
"MY LEYBEY!!! Love you so much!! 🔥❤️," wrote frequent doubles partner Taylor Townsend.
Fernandez responded to each message, thanking them for their kind words.
