Britain’s tennis star Emma
Raducanu is set to return to the court in the Macau Tennis Masters event.
The 20-year-old has not played a
single professional tennis match since April, largely because of fitness
concerns.
However, much to the delight of
her fans, Raducanu is now set to return to the court in the first week of December
in the Macau Tennis Masters event.
During her time off the court, the
Toronto-born went through wrist and ankle surgeries and it will be interesting
to see how she will perform at the highest level after spending so much time on
the sidelines.
Raducanu broke onto the scene in
2021 when she lifted the US Open after beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in straight
sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
The victory was an even more
special one considering that the former world number 10 started the competition
through the qualifying stage.
However, since then, Raducanu has
struggled to maintain her form and fitness. It was for this reason, she
participated in just one Grand Slam out of the four.
In
the Australian Open, she was knocked out after losing the second-round tie to
America’s Coco Gauff with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
