Nick Kyrgios has once again attacked Iga Swiatek on social media following a post about the Polish player at the United Cup. The Australian seems unable to move past the doping scandal controversy, and just as he did with Jannik Sinner, the five-time Grand Slam champion has now targeted Swiatek.

On Sunday, the United Cup final between Poland and the USA took place. In the opening match, World No. 2 Swiatek faced Coco Gauff for the first point of the tie. After losing the first set 4-6, Swiatek left the court a few minutes before the second set began.

Kyrgios revives doping controversy

Journalist Bastien Fachan highlighted in an Instagram post that Swiatek had left the court holding her French Open notebook. The Polish player has often been seen writing in the notebook between breaks in matches, which has seemed to serve as motivation in the past.

However, this time it didn't yield results, as Gauff won the match in straight sets (6-4, 6-4), giving Poland the first point. Later, Taylor Fritz secured a dramatic win over Hubert Hurkacz, giving the Americans the final victory.

Fachan's post received a response from the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up, Nick Kyrgios, who seized the opportunity to criticize the world No. 2 once again. "One of the scariest sights in tennis: Iga Swiatek leaving the court after losing a set with her Roland-Garros notebook in hand," the journalist posted.

“And with all the other help 😅,” Kyrgios responded sarcastically to the post, referring to the doping sanction Swiatek faced a month earlier.

The 4-times Roland Garros champion tested positive for trimetazidine late last year due to contaminated melatonin she had been taking for jetlag. She received a one-month suspension, which was deemed unintentional, and Swiatek partially served her suspension during the Asian Swing and later during the off-season.
