There has been a lot of talk this year about the
Roland Garros (French Open) scheduling and the allocation of night shift matches between the ATP and WTA but in reality, nobody wants to play that match.
Iga Siatek admitted a few days ago that she's requesting day's matches at Roland Garros because she doesn't want to play night shift matches which are not good for the way she likes to have her day structured. The Polish superstar is the number one player on the WTA so when your top players say something like that it's not ideal.
Still, there have been many complaints that the WTA isn't getting any night shift matches but
Coco Gauff admitted that players are not really a fan of them anyways:
“I don't know if Sloane or Aryna wanted to play at that time bc it’s late at night. The players I spoke to, no one really wants the night. In that way we were happy with men taking it, but it’s the prime spot. It sucks a bit in that way”
It's nothing shocking as it makes perfect sense because as Zverev's match last night demonstrates. He finished somewhere around 00:15 and admitted that he won't be in bed before 4-5 am which will make the following day very odd. It's not an ideal scenario for players and it never will be.
